AHC21316 - Certificate II in Shearing
AHC21316 Certificate II in Shearing is your entry point to qualification as a Shearer.
A career as a shearer offers many rewards, but also requires a high level of industry skill and knowledge.
Our shearing trainers possess significant industry experience and will work with you ensure you have the capacity to confidently and competently shear sheep to a professional standard.
There are three options when it comes to enrolling in our nationally recognised shearing courses:
1. Enrol in one of our many 2-week shearing schools, which includes follow up workplace-based training.
(You can find details of our up-coming shearing schools here: Shearing Schools)
2. Undertake the course entirely as workplace-based training, where our trainers work with you and your employer to deliver the training program.
3. Undertake a traineeship program (you will need your employers support with this) which allows you to enrol in our Certificate II and Certificate III in Shearing qualifications.
Shearing has been recognised as an industry of skills shortage in Victoria and as such there are many opportunities to gain employment.
Graduates of our shearing courses enjoy the many benefits of the shearing industry, including good wages, travel, great mates and consistent employment.
You may be eligible for a government-subsidised place in a vocational training course. This is called the Victorian Training Guarantee (VTG). To ascertain your eligibility contact us, alternatively go to the Government Subsidies Information page here.
